KAMPALA– As the political campaign season heats up, several politicians are stepping forward to contest for parliamentary seats, aiming to represent and uplift their respective constituencies.
Among them is former cabinet minister and former Woman MP for Budaka District, Hon. Sarah Kataike Ndoboli. Speaking to this website shortly after picking her nomination forms from the NRM electoral offices in Kyadondo, Kataike expressed her renewed commitment to serve the people of Budaka.
She cited the 2024 Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) report, which placed Budaka among the poorest districts in the country. According to her, service delivery in the district has deteriorated—dropping from 56% during her time in office to 75% currently—a trend she described as unacceptable.
Kataike, who previously served as State Minister for Health (General Duties), State Minister for the Luwero Triangle, and a representative at the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA), said she is determined to return and revive the initiatives she began, many of which collapsed after she lost her seat in Parliament.
“As a strong cadre of the NRM, I pledge that—once given the mandate to serve again as Budaka District Woman MP—I will forge strong partnerships with key development stakeholders, both locally and internationally,” she stated. “I will lobby for funding to improve critical infrastructure such as road networks, promote education for all, strengthen healthcare systems, and support economic empowerment programs to increase household incomes.”
Kataike emphasized that her focus would be on tangible development, aimed at transforming the livelihoods of all residents of Budaka and the greater Bukedi region
