In a concerted effort to boost the quality of healthcare delivery and strengthen health systems, technical teams from Uganda’s Ministry of Health, Ministry of Public Service, and Uganda Blood Transfusion Services conducted a two-day supervision exercise across the Greater Mubende Health Region on May 12 and 13, 2025.
The joint technical support supervision aimed to holistically enhance service delivery, ensure better health outcomes, and promote accountability in healthcare facilities.
Over the two days, teams visited 12 key health facilities spanning six local governments in the region. These included:
Mityana District: Mityana General Hospital, Kyantungo HCIV, Ssekanyonyi HCIV, and St. Francis HCIV
Kyankwanzi District: Ntwentwe HCIV
Kakumiro District: Kakumiro HCIV
Kiboga District: Kiboga General Hospital and Bukomera HCIV
Kassanda District: Kassanda HCIV, Kiganda HCIV, and Bukuya HCIV
Mubende District: Mubende Regional Referral Hospital
The exercise concluded with a feedback session at Mubende Regional Referral Hospital, where teams shared observations and actionable recommendations for improving service delivery.
A virtual follow-up meeting is scheduled for June to review the implementation status of these recommendations.
This initiative reflects Uganda’s ongoing commitment to strengthening district health systems, enhancing patient care, and building resilient healthcare structures capable of meeting community needs
