MTN Mobile Money (U) Limited has launched Term 3 of its Win School Fees for a Year and More campaign, bringing the initiative to Jinja with a second school van handover and continued opportunities for parents and schools to benefit from using MoMo for school fees payments.

The campaign, now in its third consecutive year, continues MTN MoMo’s focus on making education-related financial responsibilities easier for Ugandan families. Through the campaign, parents who pay school fees using MoMo stand a chance to win school fees for a full year, up to UGX 6 million, while eligible parents can also access school fees financing and pay for up to four children.

The Term 3 launch also marks another milestone in the campaign’s school support component, with MTN MoMo handing over a second school van to Jinja School of Nursing & Midwifery. The handover follows the first school van awarded to Lucky Kids Academy in Bweyogerere earlier this year.

Speaking at the launch, Keith Tukei, Chief Commercial Officer, MTN MoMo Uganda, said the campaign reflects the role that digital financial services can play in helping families manage important everyday responsibilities.

“Education is one of the biggest priorities for families, and school fees are a responsibility that parents have to plan for every term. Through MoMo, we want to make that responsibility easier to manage while creating opportunities for families and schools to benefit. The second school van is a tangible example of what the Power of MoMo can deliver when customers, schools and partners come together.”

The school van will provide the Jinja School of Nursing & Midwifery with additional support for school activities, including educational trips, co-curricular programs and other learner activities.

Mulabiza Mebra, the Principal Jinja School of Nursing & Midwifery expressed appreciation for the support, noting that the van would make a meaningful difference to the school and its learners.

“On behalf of Jinja School of Nursing and Midwifery, I sincerely thank MTN MoMo for this generous support. The school van will make a meaningful difference to our efforts to train competent nurses and midwives who will serve our communities. We encourage other institutions to embrace MoMo School Pay as a convenient way to receive school fees, and we thank MTN MoMo for recognising our commitment to digital payments and supporting our work.”

Jemima Kariuki, Chief Product Officer, MTN MoMo Uganda, said the campaign is designed to create value around the different financial needs parents face when preparing their children for a new school term.

“The Power of MoMo is about making every day financial experiences simpler and more valuable for our customers. Parents can pay school fees conveniently through the MoMo App or by dialing *165*80#, keep a clear record of their payments and stand a chance to win a full year of school fees. For parents who need additional support, eligible customers can also access a school fees loan. This term, we are also helping parents save on some of their back-to-school expenses.”

As part of the Term 3 campaign, parents will enjoy 20% off their back-to-school shopping when they pay with the MoMo App at participating supermarkets, including Capital Shoppers, Shopwise, Fraine Supermarket and Cynabel Supermarket. The discount will run for the early back-to-school shopping period only, from 15th to 30th September 2026.

MTN MoMo continues to work with partners across the education and financial services ecosystem to make school payments and education financing more accessible. These include digital school fees payment platform SchoolPay and financial technology company Furaha, which supports access to education financing.

The campaign also continues to encourage schools to embrace digital school fees payments. Schools that accept school fees through MoMo stand a chance to win a school van, extending the campaign’s benefits beyond individual parents to the institutions serving learners.

Parents can participate in the campaign by paying school fees through MoMo using the MoMo App or *165*80#. Eligible parents seeking school fees financing can also use *165*80# to access the school fees loan option. For back-to-school shopping, customers can pay with the MoMo App at participating supermarkets to receive the 20% discount.
