Following the conclusion of a long week public hearings of over 426 petitions arising from the National Resistance Movement (NRM), the parliamentary primary elections NRM Election Disputes Tribunal has today released the first batch of rulings.
During a press briefing, the tribunal Chairperson, John Musiime stated that 46 rulings have been released.

The hearings began on July 29, 2025, and concluded on August 5, 2025.

The tribunal, which consists of eight panels, has been addressing 56 petitions each day. The tribunal is expected to deliver verdicts within seven days for each petitioner from the date of the hearing.

Musiime emphasized that this represents a significant achievement for the tribunal and reaffirmed their commitment to transparency, fairness, and efficiency in managing these cases. “Today’s release fulfills that commitment,” he remarked.

“Each petition was evaluated thoroughly, taking into account the evidence and arguments presented by the parties, in accordance with the NRM Election Regulations, relevant laws, and the principles of natural justice.”

He invited all parties and/or advocates involved in the affected petitions to retrieve their rulings from the Tribunal Registry located at Plot 30, Kyadondo Road, where valid email addresses were provided, and electronic copies will be sent accordingly.

He also mentioned that additional rulings will be issued on an ongoing basis in the coming days.

“We are dedicated to completing the Tribunal’s mandate with the same integrity and fairness that has characterized our work to date,” he stated.

Musiime indicated that the specifics of the verdicts will be disclosed in due course before being shared with the media.
