Major General James Birungi, the Chief of Defence Intelligence and Security, stressed the vital role of adaptability within military operations, warning against the misconception that routine tasks in military service are ever stable.

At the handover ceremony for the Office of Assistant Chief of Defence Intelligence and Security -Defence Engagement and International Affairs (ACDIS-DEIA), which took place at the Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs Headquarters in Mbuya, Birungi stressed the necessity for flexibility in the face of changing circumstances.

During this event, Col.Naboth Mwesigwa officially transferred the office to Colonel Paddy Ankunda.

Birungi commended Mwesigwa for his integrity, effective leadership, and commitment to achieving remarkable outcomes during his tenure.

In his remarks, Mwesigwa expressed his heartfelt thanks to President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and the Army leadership for their unwavering support throughout his journey in the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF).

He also acknowledged the Protocol team for their cooperation and assistance during his time in office.
