Residents of Kafumbe village, Bbibo Parish, Kawolo Sub-County, Lugazi Municipality, woke to a grisly discovery on the morning of 6th December 2025. A man, believed to be in his mid-30s, was found dead, allegedly killed by a mob, alongside a dead pig wrapped in a green sack.
According to police, the case was registered after Jane Namayega, the area Chairperson, received information at around 6:00am about the body lying along Lugazi-Kasokoso road. She promptly visited the scene to verify the report before alerting Lugazi Police Station, who took over the investigation.
“The body of a yet to be identified male adult, approximately 35 years old, has been conveyed to Kawolo Hospital mortuary pending identification and postmortem,” confirmed Hellen Butoto of the Police spokesperson for Sezibwa Region.
Authorities said the incident reportedly occurred during the night of 5th December 2025, though the exact time remains unknown. Police investigations are ongoing as inquiries into the shocking murder continue.
“The crime scene has been secured and further management is underway,” added SP Butoto, urging residents with information to come forward.
