The National Unity Platform leader Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, widely known as Bobi Wine, asserts that it is unjust for CBS FM to provide a platform for certain politicians intent on defaming his party without allowing him the opportunity to address the allegations.

Without mentioning names, he pointed out that some politicians have been asserting that he (Kyagulanyi) engaged in negotiations with President Yoweri Museveni to secure the release of some NUP supporters, which he says is inaccurate.

He stressed that the individual who previously claimed that “I engaged in negotiations with President Museveni to secure the release of Eddy Mutwe, Bobi Yung, and others is the same person who sought our permission to negotiate with Museveni. Upon our refusal, he became an enemy”.

“This raises the question of his true intentions, and I must inquire what I supposedly offered in return for Museveni’s release of our individuals, as negotiations inherently involve a reciprocal exchange. He failed to clarify this point,” he added.

Kyagulanyi noted that if he had indeed negotiated with Museveni, Achileo would not have been arrested, and Bobi Yung and Summy of the Mighty Family would not be imprisoned.

He stressed that certain individuals may present themselves as part of the opposition, yet their actions and characteristics can reveal their true nature.

Kyagulanyi remarked that the allegations against him were all disseminated through CBS radio, where the individual in question was featured.

He expressed a desire for CBS to extend an invitation to him to address these claims, stating, “It would be beneficial; otherwise, the station may be perceived as a propaganda outlet focused solely on spreading falsehoods. If each week it features someone making unsubstantiated claims about the NUP, yet no NUP leader is invited to present their side, except for those who have strayed from “our cause and whose sole purpose seems to be to damage NUP’s reputation, this raises concerns.”

He further indicated that if the issue pertains to NUP leaders, including himself, it would be appropriate for him to be invited. “Let me refrain from further comments on this matter,” he noted.

Kyagulanyi who was addressing journalists at the NUP headquarters in Kavule noted that CBS radio should offer him a platform to counter what he perceives as attacks on his person and the party’s reputation.
