A senior journalist named Richard Wanambwa has been apprehended by the police in the Kampala Metropolitan East area following several accusations of extortion and cyber harassment.
“This afternoon, police from KMP EAST arrested Mr. Wanambwa Richard of the Eagle Online publication due to multiple allegations of Extortion and Cyber Harassment,” the Kampala Metropolitan deputy spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire noted on the Uganda Police Force’s official X account formerly twitter.
The post highlighted that the police are working together with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP), and the suspect will be brought to court in due time.
