Three people have died and 06 others injured in a fatal crash involving motor vehicles UAW 217A/UBJ 930T trailer, KCF 002P/ZF 3628 trailer, pedestrians, commercial structures and a residential house. The crash occurred on 26 -02-2025 at around 08:40am at Namataba along Jinja-Kampala, Mukono Division.
According to the police report, the incident occurred when the driver of Motor Vehicle 217A/UBJ 930T trailer carrying cement traveling from Jinja side to Kampala lost control after hitting a pothole at a high speed.
The trailer rammed into a commercial structure, a stationery trailer, and a residential house, thus instantly leading to the death of three people and injuring five others all occupants of the commercial structures, and the driver of the trailer which caused the accident.
SP Kananura Michael, Directorate of Traffic & Road Safety, said that all the injured were rushed to different health facilities where they are receiving medication, while the bodies were conveyed to Kawolo Hospital mortuary.
He noted that all motor vehicles involved were towed to Mukono Police Station for further investigation.
