Namilyango College is rallying its stakeholders to fully support the implementation of its ambitious 10-year strategic plan, which aims to elevate the institution to new heights.
Speaking to the Ugewsline, the Chairman of the Board of Governors, Fr. Dr. Joachim Mugalu, emphasized the importance of collective action in delivering on the plan’s goals, which run from 2023 to 2033.
“It is incumbent upon all stakeholders to support the effective implementation of our 10-year strategic plan if the college’s development agenda is to bear fruition,” Dr. Mugalu stated.
The strategic plan is designed to uphold the college’s vision by offering high-quality education rooted in Catholic values, expanding accommodation and learning facilities, renovating old infrastructure, and upgrading ICT resources to meet modern standards.
“It is our hope that the actualization of these goals will enhance the realization and perpetuation of the College Mission, which is to provide Education for Responsibility,” he said.
Dr. Mugalu highlighted the College’s role in shaping the future, noting that Namilyango is committed to nurturing young people as “agents of hope” for society.
“Namilyango College is committed to continue nurturing such agents of hope for the society of today… These young people are the flag bearers of the Nation’s progress into the constantly changing global community,” he observed.
He further stressed that for countries in the Global South, better standards of living cannot be achieved without investing in education and skills development.
“It is the responsibility of society or their country, to suitably equip its hope bearers with the qualifications and tools they need in the fulfillment of their mission,” he said.
Dr. Mugalu also applauded the Ministry of Education for introducing a New Curriculum, which he believes is vital in unlocking the creative and productive potential of Uganda’s youth.
The Board Chairman commended Archbishop Dr. Paul Ssemogerere of Kampala Archdiocese for leading the 123rd anniversary mass of the College on March 22, 2025. The Archbishop’s message of peace, unity, and hard work was warmly received by students, parents, alumni, and friends of the college.
This year’s Namilyango Day was held under the theme: “Sow generously and you will reap generously.”
Dr. Mugalu also thanked the Chief Guest, Col. (Rtd) Tom Butime, Minister of Tourism, Wildlife, and Antiquities, for honoring the invitation.
He concluded by affirming the school’s commitment to working with both government and private sector players to continue delivering quality education to the learners.
