Joy and celebration swept across the Busoga Kingdom as His Majesty William Gabula Nadiope IV, graduated with a second Master’s degree, this time from the prestigious Yale University in the United States.
The monarch earned a Master of Advanced Studies in Global Affairs from Yale’s highly regarded Jackson School of Global Affairs.

Social media platforms like X, Instagram, and WhatsApp were abuzz with congratulatory messages from thousands of well-wishers and loyal subjects, proud of their King’s continued pursuit of academic excellence.
Known for his deep commitment to education, the Kyabazinga is once again leading by example, demonstrating that learning is a lifelong journey, even for royalty. His Majesty already holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Kyambogo University (Uganda) and an MBA in Management from Coventry University (UK).
Currently, he is also in his third year of a Doctorate in Business Administration (Strategic Management) at the University of Portsmouth in the UK.
Yale University, ranked among the top five institutions in the U.S. and top ten globally, awarded the King a merit-based, full-board scholarship, a distinction typically reserved for highly accomplished individuals.
The monarch now joins a list of world leaders and changemakers, including Nelson Mandela, Bill Clinton, and George H. W. Bush, who have walked the same academic halls.
Palace insiders and royal officials have praised the significance of this milestone.
According to Minister for Kyabazinga Affairs Babirye Yudaya and Prince Wanume Paul, a lecturer at Uganda Management Institute, this advanced degree equips the King with global perspectives vital to tackling regional and national challenges.
These include his leadership roles in fighting malaria (as National Champion), ending teenage pregnancies (as UNAIDS Goodwill Ambassador), and combating hydrocephalus in Uganda.
Professors at Yale commended the Kyabazinga for completing the program with distinction, despite his demanding royal duties.
At the graduation ceremony, His Majesty was accompanied by his supportive queen, Inhebantu Jovia Mutesi Nadiope, and members of the Royal Family, including Prime Minister Dr. Joseph Muvawala, Prince Walugembe Frederick, and Busoga Kingdom’s State Minister for Finance, Ivan Kiirya.
More than a ceremonial figure, the Kyabazinga is proving to be a visionary leader, using education and cultural leadership as tools to empower his people and contribute to Uganda’s socio-economic transformation.
Inspired by his parents, his mother, an environmental engineer from the University of Florida, and his father, a Ph.D. holder from George Washington University, the King remains committed to pushing the boundaries of leadership through knowledge.
His latest academic feat not only elevates his personal legacy but also serves as a powerful inspiration for youth across Uganda and beyond.
