Nsangi Police are holding two suspects in connection with an aggravated robbery at the Fortebet betting outlet in Kitemu, Wakiso district.
According to police reports, the incident occurred on the morning of May 1, 2025, around 9:00 AM, when seven armed individuals, wielding machetes, stormed the premises.
The robbers tied up employees and a security guard.
A customer, George Nkesigga, entered the facility during the robbery and was also restrained. However, he managed to free himself and struck one of the attackers with a chair, triggering a scuffle.
With his help, other customers and staff subdued two of the assailants.
Local residents quickly joined in and beat the suspects before police arrived to rescue and arrest them. The two were later taken to BSK Medical Centre for treatment.
Police have processed the crime scene, collected evidence, and taken statements. Investigations remain ongoing.
