BREAKING News: Following a period of transformation and strong performance over the last five years, the shareholders of PostBank have unanimously approved a bold and strategic decision to reposition the Bank for even greater impact and partnerships.

“This decision marks a new chapter in our journey — one that embraces both our growth aspirations and our national pride. It is with great honour that I stand before you to announce that we, the shareholders of PostBank, have approved the rebranding of the Bank to Pearl Bank Uganda Limited,” said Hon. Matia Kasaija,  the minister of finance.

He stated “This new name — Pearl Bank Uganda — was carefully chosen to reflect the essence of who we are and what we stand for. It draws inspiration from the late Sir Winston Churchill’s timeless description of Uganda as “The Pearl of Africa” — a country celebrated for its breathtaking beauty, cultural richness, and abundant potential. The name evokes a sense of national pride, purity, wisdom, prosperity, and enduring value — qualities we seek to embody as we serve Ugandans across the country.”

The rebranding process will be undertaken with full transparency and is subject to the necessary approvals by the Bank of Uganda.

“As shareholders, we are confident that this strategic shift will not only enhance the Bank’s visibility and competitiveness but will also position it to attract stronger financial partners and high-value depositors. These partnerships are critical to scaling up lending to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and the agriculture sector, which remain central to Uganda’s economic growth.” he emphasized

On behalf of the shareholders, minister Kasaija extended best wishes to the management and staff of the Bank as they embark on this transition. “I also invite our customers and fellow Ugandans to join us on this exciting journey. Together, we will strengthen the Bank’s ability to drive inclusive prosperity and support the Government’s Agriculture, Tourism, Mineral Development and Services (ATMS) strategy — particularly in agriculture value addition.”

Pearl Bank Uganda will continue to be a beacon of trust, opportunity, and transformation — empowering Ugandans to thrive, every step of the way.
