Police in Kwania District have opened investigations into the tragic death of a Senior Four student at Abongomola Seed Secondary School, following what authorities suspect was a brutal mob assault by fellow learners.
The victim, 16-year-old Solomon Lukori from Emeny Chawente Sub-county, is alleged to have been attacked by a group of students who accused him of stealing personal belongings.
The situation reportedly escalated into violence, ending in his death and sending shockwaves through the community.
In response, officers from Kwania Central Police Station have arrested the school’s headteacher along with several students as investigations intensify into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Lukori’s body has been taken to Aduku Health Centre IV for a post-mortem examination that is expected to determine the exact cause of death, as detectives piece together what transpired.
Preliminary police findings point to suspected mob justice, a development that has ignited serious concerns about discipline, student safety, and supervision within the school. The incident has stirred anger among residents, many of whom are demanding accountability and stronger safeguards to prevent such violence in learning institutions.
Authorities say investigations are ongoing as the community awaits answers.
