POLITICS: The Senior Presidential Advisor on Agriculture and Local People, Peace Rugambwa, has met with NRM leaders from Kigezi to mobilize support for the NRM presidential flag bearer, President Yoweri Museveni, ahead of the January 15, 2026 general elections.
The leaders in attendance included NRM flag bearers for district chairperson, mayoral, and parliamentary positions, as well as Resident District Commissioners from the Kigezi sub-region.
The State Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, Henry Musasizi, and the NRM CEC National Vice Chairman for Western Region, Jonard Asiimwe, also attended the meeting.
The Senior Presidential Advisor on Agriculture and Local People is rallying support for President Museveni and NRM candidates ahead of the President’s campaign trail in the Kigezi region.
Campaigning under the slogan “Team Peace Rugambwa, President Museveni 2026–2031,” Rugambwa called on the leaders to use radio programs to drum up support for President Museveni and ensure his re-election, as well as the success of NRM candidates in the 2026 general elections.
She also urged them to mobilize boda boda riders to form SACCOs, assuring them that the President is willing to support such initiatives.
Minister Musasizi urged fellow leaders to work as a team to drum up support for President Museveni and NRM flag bearers.
