NAKASONGOLA District- President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has paid glowing tribute to the First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports, Maama Janet Kataaha Museveni, describing her as a resilient and prayerful leader whose life has transformed Uganda.

Speaking at her birthday celebration at Migyera UWESO Secondary School in Nakasongola, the President thanked her for her sacrifices during Uganda’s liberation struggle, raising their children alone while he was in the bush, and dedicating herself to caring for orphans and widows through UWESO.
“I really want to salute her, thank God for keeping her, and also thank her for her contribution to Uganda and to our family,” President Museveni said.
He praised her clean and mature leadership style, which brought stability in Karamoja and is now uplifting Uganda’s education and sports sectors.
The President noted that under her leadership, Uganda’s athletes have won more medals than ever before.

Maama Janet used the occasion to declare a bold new war against corruption, describing it as “the new AIDS Acquired Integrity Deficiency Syndrome,” and called upon Ugandans to reject it just like they fought HIV/AIDS.
She gave glory to God for her life, thanked the President for his love and support over 52 years, and urged youth to embrace truth, integrity, and servant leadership to transform Uganda.
