Jinja, Uganda — BrighterMonday Uganda reaffirmed its leadership in promoting inclusive workplace cultures with the successful hosting of HR Fusion 2025 in Jinja. Held under the theme “Creating Inclusion: Fostering Belonging for Every Talent to Thrive at Work,” the annual event brought together HR professionals, business leaders, and managers from key sectors including health, ICT, hospitality, NGOs, and manufacturing.
The forum underscored the value of diversity and inclusion in driving employee engagement, improving retention, and boosting organizational performance — key priorities in Uganda’s growing job market.
Pamela Kabahesi, Country Programme Lead at BrighterMonday Uganda, said the event was designed to give employers practical strategies to create high-performing, inclusive environments.
“Our goal is to equip organizations — especially those in fast-moving industries like hospitality and manufacturing — with tools to build workplaces where every individual is respected, empowered, and able to contribute meaningfully,” she said.
Participants explored critical topics such as inclusive leadership, tackling unconscious bias, psychological safety, inclusive communication, and measuring impact. Sessions also focused on daily inclusion habits and building diverse teams capable of innovation and resilience.
Tailored to the realities of Uganda’s private sector, this year’s edition placed special emphasis on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with 20–50 employees. Leaders from sectors such as tourism, health, and ICT were also given space to exchange experiences and co-create actionable inclusion strategies.
HR Fusion 2025 also aligned with BrighterMonday’s partnership with the Mastercard Foundation through the Young Africa Works initiative, which aims to connect young people with dignified work.
“It’s not just about helping youth access jobs,” said a BrighterMonday representative. “We’re helping them thrive — by ensuring the places they work are welcoming, fair, and growth-oriented.”
Beyond fostering learning, the event served as a platform for pipeline development, linking employers to job seekers and advancing long-term workforce development.
