Police in Kiboga District are investigating a murder by shooting after a security guard was fatally shot by his colleague while on duty at Brac Bank in Bamusuuta, Kiboga Town Council.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, October 2, 2025, at around 1:00 a.m.
The deceased was identified as Moses Engoromoit, 39, a security guard with Ultimate Security, who was stationed at the bank.
His alleged killer, Moses Karuhanga, also an employee of the same security company, is currently on the run.
According to preliminary police findings, the two guards developed a heated disagreement while on duty.
During the altercation, Karuhanga reportedly drew his firearm and shot Engoromoit in the head, killing him instantly.
Racheal Kawala, the Wamala Region policing areas said Karuhanga alerted their supervisor about the incident, who rushed to the scene only to find Engoromoit’s body lying in a pool of blood.
She noted that the police were notified, and a case of murder by shooting has since been opened.
Kawala said the crime scene was examined and documented, and statements were recorded from some of the relevant witnesses.
Investigations further real that the deceased was carrying a baton while the suspect was carrying a gun as guard weapons and after the incident the suspect abandoned the gun at the scene and fled the scene
Kawala noted that efforts are on to have the suspect arrested and brought to book, pending further investigations.
