In a courtroom scene that shocked onlookers, Kampala socialite Bryan Kirumira, popularly known as Bryan White, was physically dragged into court while lying on a thin mattress.

He is seen cries for help to President Museveni and Salim Saleh, claiming it is the mathias who are witchhunting him.

Video clip has since gone viral, sparking outrage online over the manner and condition in which the embattled socialite was presented before the magistrate.

Kirumira faces charges in connection with the death of 25-year-old Caroline Nalubwama, his lover, who reportedly sustained fatal burn injuries at his Kyamula residence in Makindye Division before succumbing to her injuries at Kiruddu Hospital.

Kirumira after being charged, the magistrated ordered the officers to take him back to hospital to continue with  receiving treatment for injuries he allegedly sustained during the incident.

His wife, Daisy Nalunga, along with Daphine Abaho, Naava Nakato, and Joyce Irene Nambalirwa, appeared before Grade One Magistrate Teddy Nakawuki, who remanded the accused to Luzira Prison until December 18, 2025, when the case will return for the formal reading of charges.

According to the charge sheet, the suspects face at least seven counts, including human sacrifice, manslaughter, conspiracy to commit a felony, possession of narcotics, and giving false information to police.

Authorities allege that on October 22, 2025, Kirumira killed Nalubwama “for the purpose of performing or furthering witchcraft, ritual, or other unlawful purposes,” contrary to the Prevention and Prohibition of Human Sacrifice Act.

Kirumira is also accused of manslaughter, having allegedly burned Nalubwama and then transferred her to Kiruddu Hospital, where she later died.

Additional charges include reckless handling of combustible materials and illegal possession of marijuana, reportedly found at his residence.

Nalunga, Abaho, and Nakato are accused of conspiring with Kirumira in the alleged ritual murder, reportedly using candle wax, petrol, and ghee, while Nambalirwa, an administrator at M. Mabirizi Nursing Home, faces charges of manslaughter and negligence for failing to provide proper care to the victim.

Kirumira claimed the burns resulted from a gas cylinder explosion while Nalubwama was cooking. Family members, however, allege foul play and insist the death was ritual-related.

Police also discovered grass-thatched structures on Kirumira’s property believed to be shrines, raising further suspicions.

Makindye police confirmed that four women were arraigned before the Chief Magistrate’s Court on November 12, 2026, in connection with the case, while charges against Bryan White were formally filed following his hospitalization.

Luke Owoyesigyire, Deputy Public Relations Officer of Kampala Metropolitan Police, assured the public that the investigation is being handled with the “utmost diligence.”

The case will return to Makindye Chief Magistrates Court on December 18, 2025, for the formal mention before Chief Magistrate Basemera.
