The vehicle, which was fully covered with an orange tarpaulin, reportedly failed to stop when officers signaled it to pull over, triggering a pursuit.
The chase ended at Kalagi Trading Centre, where the vehicle was abandoned.
According to police, three occupants fled the scene on foot, but a subsequent search of the vehicle led to the recovery of three cows concealed inside.
Police identified the arrested suspect as Byansi Livingston, also known as Yusuf Lubega.
He is currently being held in custody as investigations continue.
Authorities have launched a manhunt for the other suspects who escaped.
The recovered cattle and vehicle have been taken to Nagalama Police Division pending verification and identification of their rightful owners.
Police have appealed to members of the public who may have recently lost cattle or have information regarding the recovered animals to report to the station.
Investigations into the suspected cattle theft are ongoing.
