KAMPALA – MTN MoMo has unveiled Travel by MoMo, a new digital travel solution that enables customers to search, compare and pay for flights directly from their mobile phones through the MoMo App.

The new platform is designed to simplify the flight booking process by giving customers access to multiple airlines, allowing them to compare schedules and fares before securely paying with MTN MoMo.

Speaking at the launch, Jemima Kariuki, Chief Product Officer at MTN MoMo, said the new service reflects the company’s commitment to developing customer-focused solutions that make everyday services more accessible and convenient.

“Our customers mean the world to us. Every product that we’ve taken to market is because of the love that we have for our customers. We take time to understand them deeply and develop products that make sense for their everyday needs,” Kariuki said.

She noted that whether customers are travelling for business, education, leisure or to visit family, booking a flight should be simple and convenient.“Travel by MoMo gives customers one place to search, compare and book flights from their mobile phones. Customers can browse flight options from different airlines, compare schedules and fares, choose the option that works best for them and pay securely using MTN MoMo,” she explained.

Kariuki added that the platform is powered by global travel technology through Next Travel in partnership with Amadeus, one of the world’s leading travel technology providers. The partnership provides customers with access to real-time flight availability from airlines across the globe, enabling them to make informed travel decisions. She said the launch marks only the beginning of the platform’s journey, revealing that MTN MoMo will continue improving the service based on customer feedback.

“Over the coming months, we will continue enhancing the Travel by MoMo experience by introducing additional features that make managing travel even easier. We build products by listening to our customers and responding to their everyday needs,” Kariuki said. She expressed confidence that the new platform will transform how Ugandans plan and book air travel by offering a seamless, secure and convenient digital experience through the MoMo App.
