UGANDA (UGNEWSLINE) – Bunha produced a dramatic second-half comeback to beat Budiope 2-1 at Wembley Ground, Bunya SS, and claim all three points in a tightly contested encounter.
Budiope started brightly with a high press that caused problems for the Bunha defence. The visitors appeared to have taken an early lead from a counter-attack following a restart in the ninth minute, but the effort was ruled offside.
Just three minutes later, however, Budiope got their breakthrough.
Waiswa Joel made a good run and created enough space to unleash a long-range effort. His shot struck the post before settling into the bottom-left corner to put Budiope 1-0 ahead.
Budiope continued to threaten, and Kavuma Abdul almost doubled their advantage in the 21st minute.
Kavuma made an excellent run down the left, beating the Bunha defence before spotting the goalkeeper off his line. He attempted to finish from a tight angle near the corner line, but the ball rolled across the face of goal without finding a teammate.
Mukisa Edrine followed up after a poor clearance but could only shoot wide.
Bunha came out strongly after the break and enjoyed the greater share of possession.
Adhebye Rabani had a golden opportunity to level in the 76th minute after calmly controlling the ball inside the box, but he lifted his effort over the bar.
The equaliser arrived two minutes later.
Balondemu David brought down Mulinda Yosam inside the penalty area, prompting referee Lubega Ayub to point to the spot. Rabani stepped up and made no mistake, converting the penalty to make it 1-1.
Bunha continued pushing and completed the turnaround in the 90th minute.
Owori Vincent produced a fine finish from a beautifully delivered corner to give the hosts a 2-1 victory and condemn Budiope to their first defeat of this year’s competition.
The result gives Bunha a crucial boost heading into the final stretch of the tournament.

In the other match, Bukooli Namayingo secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Bugweri at Namayingo Primary School.
