NEW YEAR 2025 : As Uganda prepares for the 2026 general elections, Apostle Grace Lubega, the head of Phanero Ministries, has called on religious leaders to exercise wisdom and focus on promoting peace in the nation.

Speaking during the New Year’s Eve service at Phanero Grounds in Naguru, Apostle Lubega urged religious leaders to avoid entangling themselves in political disputes, emphasising their vital role as pillars of peace and unity in the country.

“Religious leaders have a responsibility to rise above political conflicts and instead preach peace and understanding during this crucial time,” he said.

He also addressed the wider public, particularly those intending to participate in politics, urging them to embrace transparency and refrain from actions that could fuel discord. Lubega stressed the importance of fostering harmony to safeguard Uganda’s stability during the election period.

“As a nation, we must prioritise peace and unity. Political engagement should not lead to divisions or violence,” Lubega added.

The Apostle’s message resonated with the thousands in attendance, underscoring the need for collaborative efforts between leaders, citizens, and institutions to ensure a smooth electoral process.

As Uganda approaches the elections, calls for peaceful dialogue and responsible leadership continue to gain momentum, with religious leaders playing a pivotal role in shaping the nation’s moral and ethical outlook.
