MTN MoMo Uganda has unveiled the “Power to Be Borderless” Promo, alongside the launch of Cross-Border Payments between Uganda and Tanzania and a strategic remittance partnership with Dubai Duty Free.

This initiative reaffirms MTN MoMo’s commitment to providing seamless, secure, and rewarding financial services that connect Ugandans to opportunities both locally and globally.

With this new campaign, MTN MoMo customers can send and receive money across borders more easily while enjoying exclusive rewards. Senders abroad stand a chance to win fully paid trips, while receivers in Uganda can win shopping vouchers worth 200,000 shillings, gift hampers, and other prizes.

Speaking at the launch, Keith Tukei, Chief Commercial Officer at MTN MoMo, said: “At MTN MoMo, our focus has always been to simplify financial services for our customers. With the Power to Be Borderless campaign, we are giving Ugandans the ability to stay connected with their loved ones and business opportunities across borders with convenience and confidence. Every transaction is not just secure and fast, but it also brings customers closer to exciting rewards.”

Tukei added: “This campaign also reflects our broader mission to drive financial inclusion. By enabling borderless financial services, we are empowering families, traders, professionals, and the diaspora community to participate in the economy without barriers. We are committed to being a trusted partner that delivers solutions which support the wellbeing of Ugandans at home and abroad.”

To participate in the promo, senders abroad can simply use MTN MoMo’s remittance partners to send money directly to Uganda, while receivers in Uganda need to accept their funds through their MoMo wallets. Every transaction automatically qualifies as an entry into the draw, and winners will be selected through a randomized process. The more transactions customers make, the higher their chances of winning.

The campaign will run for a limited period, and winners will be contacted through official MTN MoMo channels and announced on MTN’s website and social media platforms. Customers are reminded that MTN MoMo will never ask for money to release prizes.

This launch is part of MTN’s broader “Power to Be More” platform, which champions digital and financial empowerment by providing tools and services that improve everyday lives.
