Businessman Christian Asiimwe, popularly known as Don Chris, is facing a total of 477 charges of obtaining money by false pretences following the addition of 350 new charges to his case.
Asiimwe appeared before the City Hall Magistrates Court in Kampala where the prosecution presented seven new files containing 50 charges each.
He denied all the new charges before Senior Principal Grade One Magistrate Nicholas Aisu and was remanded to Luzira Prison until October 20, 2026.
The prosecution alleges that Asiimwe, a director of Sky Pins Tours and Travel Company, collected money from job seekers after promising to secure employment for them in countries including Canada and Luxembourg.
The alleged offences were reportedly committed between 2023 and 2025 in Ntinda, Nakawa Division, Kampala.
According to one of the new charge sheets, several complainants allegedly paid millions of shillings for jobs abroad.
Among them is Mbwali Juliet, who allegedly paid 5.45 million shillings for a job in Canada. Uthuman Kalfan allegedly paid 5 million shillings for employment in Luxembourg, while Businge Robert allegedly paid 7.5 million shillings after being promised a job in Canada.
Other complainants include Nairuba Gloria, who allegedly paid 5 million shillings, Mutebi Prince Ronnie, who allegedly paid 9 million shillings, and Ismail Abdusalam Sebaduka, who allegedly paid 9.2 million shillings for a promised job in Europe or Canada.
Mbakire Aisha is also alleged to have paid 9.2 million shillings for employment in Canada.
The prosecution alleges that Asiimwe committed the offences together with other people who are still at large.
The charges have been brought under Section 285 of the Penal Code Act, which criminalises obtaining money by false pretences.
The new charges come less than three weeks after Asiimwe was first charged before the same court on September 2 with 127 counts arising from similar allegations.
He denied the earlier charges and was remanded to Luzira Prison until September 21, when he returned to court for mention.
The earlier case involved seven charge files and several complainants who allegedly paid money after being promised jobs in Canada, Luxembourg and other countries.
With the addition of the 350 charges, Asiimwe now faces 477 counts contained in 14 separate case files.
The prosecution has told court that investigations into the cases are complete.
Magistrate Aisu has adjourned the matter to October 20, 2026, when the case will continue.
