JINJA CITY -The Electoral Commission (EC) has today engaged the public at the ongoing 31st National Agricultural Show, currently taking place at the Agricultural Showgrounds in Jinja City.

Running until 5th July 2025, the event presents a unique opportunity for the Commission to deliver electoral services in an informal and interactive environment.
The team which is comprising of technical staff from both the Commission’s headquarters and the Kira electoral region is led by Mr. Deo Natukunda, the Regional Election Officer for the Kira Region.
“At the EC stall, citizens are being guided through key aspects of the electoral roadmap for the 2025/2026 General Elections. Special emphasis is being placed on ongoing activities related to the elections for Special Interest Groups (SIGs), which include Youth, Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), Workers, Older Persons, and the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF), said Mr. Natukunda.

“The Commission is also using the event to highlight the civic responsibility of every citizen in upholding democracy by participating in electoral processes. Visitors are encouraged to ask questions, seek clarifications, and collect voter education materials,” he added.
