Thousands have braved heavy rains this morning to take part in Kabaka birthday Run2025 as part of celebrations to mark Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II’s 70th birthday.
In his message read by Katikiro Charles Peter Mayiga, Kabaka has commended participants for turning up in big numbers.
He further applauded them for standing brave and solid in the fight against the spread of HIV.
He called on men to spearhead the fight against the spread of HIV and also advocate more of protecting girls in the communities.
Kabaka was accompanied by Nalinya Lubuga Agness Nabaloga, Omulangira Wassajja, Omulangira Crispin Jjuunju Kiweewa, Omulangira Richard Ssemakokiro among other.
He concluded by asking Baganda to work hard to reclaim Buganda’s glory.
The event has featured three race categories: 21 kilometres, 10 kilometres, and 5 kilometres.
The major aim of the run is to promote health and wellness while raising awareness about HIV/Aids.
