The Kampala Metropolitan Police has continued to carry out coordinated operations across several divisions, targeting criminal hideouts, drug abusers, and habitual offenders who have been terrorizing communities in both urban and peri-urban areas.

According to the Kampala Metropolitan deputy spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire these operations took place between 4th and 5th November 2025.
In Kajjansi Division, operations were conducted in Lweza B, Kilyamuli, Akright, and Kawotto, resulting in the arrest of 44 suspects involved in smoking marijuana, theft, and other public nuisances.
Two juveniles were also intercepted while attempting to break into a poultry house.
In Old Kampala Division, a total of 60 suspects were arrested in Namungona, Nakulabye, and around the New Taxi Park and Mukwano Roundabout for possession of breaking implements, suspected narcotics, and attempting to commit felonies.
In Kabalagala Division, police apprehended 45 suspects from Nsamya, Kamwanyi, and Kataba, primarily for narcotics possession and street mugging.
In Matugga Division, several suspects were arrested along the Matugga–Gulu Highway, Gombe, and Lwadda areas for phone and bag snatching, as well as drug use during evening traffic hours.
Operations in Mukono District targeted criminal activities across Goma and Central Divisions, with the following results: Katwe–Bukerere (9 suspects arrested), Namave Industrial Park (8 suspects arrested), and Kitega, Wantoni, Benghazi, and Kikooza (30 suspects arrested).
In Kira Division, operations in Nsasa and Bulindo led to the arrest of 8 suspects found with suspected narcotics.
Owoyesigyire said a total of 204 suspects were arrested during the operations and all suspects are undergoing screening and will be processed for prosecution in courts of law.
The police commend the cooperation of local leaders and community members, whose timely information continues to aid in dismantling criminal networks and improving safety in the metropolitan area.
