KAMPALA, Uganda (UGNEWSLINE) –
Kitante Hill School has registered a 100 per cent turnout for the 2026 Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) examinations, according to the school’s headteacher, Samuel Balwana Wotakyala.
Balwana told journalists at the school on October 12, 2026, during the examination check-in ceremony that the school registered 243 candidates for this year’s UCE examinations.
He said all the registered candidates, except two girls who had not reported to school since the beginning of the third term and could not be traced, turned up for the examinations.
“We encountered a few challenges, including an early morning heavy downpour that disrupted the examination collection programme due to a sudden traffic jam. However, we started the examinations at exactly 9:00 a.m., the officially designated time,” Balwana said.
The deputy headteacher in charge of academics, Danson Bank Nagaba, Balwana thanked parents for supporting the school’s programmes and activities leading up to the examinations, particularly by paying school dues on time.
He said the support eased the school’s administrative workload and enabled teachers to concentrate on preparing candidates for the examinations.
Balwana also commended the government for working with schools by providing the necessary logistics and guidance to facilitate the smooth administration of the national examinations.
He added that teachers provided the candidates with the necessary academic and technical support through a comprehensive education programme, expressing optimism that the efforts would translate into excellent performance.
The 2026 UCE examinations commenced on October 12, with candidates sitting their Mathematics paper in the morning before proceeding to Chemistry in the afternoon.
