Dolwe Island, Namayingo District — La Fang Eco Resort hosted a team of journalists, digital content creators, influencers and photographers on a familiarization tour aimed at promoting Dolwe Island as one of Uganda’s emerging luxury eco-tourism destinations.
The tour brought together media professionals and online influencers to experience the resort’s eco-friendly hospitality, unique outdoor activities and the island’s natural beauty, with the goal of increasing awareness of the destination through authentic storytelling and digital content.
Travelling aboard MV Sigulu, the team explored Dolwe Island and participated in a variety of activities, including quad bike rides, guided island tours, boat cruises on Lake Victoria, farm visits, swimming, karaoke, a unique “breakfast in the bush” experience, goat roasting from the resort’s eco-farm and sunset photography sessions.
The visitors also toured La Fang Eco Resort’s distinctive rooms and cottages, which have been carefully designed to blend with the island’s natural rock formations. The resort was developed with sustainability in mind, preserving existing rocks and trees to maintain the island’s natural environment.
Speaking during the tour, La Fang Eco Resort General Manager Duncan Wandera said the initiative forms part of the resort’s strategy to market Dolwe Island through digital storytelling and media engagement.
“We are delighted to host some of Uganda’s leading content creators and media professionals to experience Dolwe Island firsthand. Their stories, photographs and videos will help introduce more people to this incredible destination while showcasing the unique experiences that La Fang Eco Resort offers,” Wandera said.
As part of the visit, the media team also handed over Explore Uganda branded promotional materials to support destination marketing efforts.
Influencer Queen Tracy Nakabugo praised the resort’s accommodation and tranquil surroundings, describing it as an ideal destination for relaxation and reconnecting with nature.
Content creator Simple Gladys described La Fang Eco Resort as a hidden gem, citing its warm hospitality, exciting activities and breathtaking scenery. She encouraged more Ugandans and international travellers to visit the island.
