The Uganda Police Force has stepped up efforts to inspire young people to consider careers in law enforcement, using the Greenhill Academy Secondary School Careers Day Expo to showcase the wide range of professional opportunities available within the force.
The careers exhibition, held on Thursday under the theme, “Position Yourself to Be Relevant,” attracted students and professionals from different sectors, providing learners with firsthand guidance on career choices and the skills required to succeed in today’s competitive world.
Police officers from several specialised units engaged students through interactive exhibitions and career talks, demonstrating the diverse roles within modern policing beyond traditional law enforcement.
The sessions highlighted opportunities in criminal investigations, forensic science, traffic management, community policing, crime prevention and public safety.
The officers also emphasised the critical role the Uganda Police Force plays in maintaining national security and supporting socio-economic development, encouraging students to view policing as a profession built on service, professionalism and integrity.
Addressing the learners, police officials urged students to cultivate discipline, patriotism, honesty and hard work as essential values for future success, regardless of the careers they choose.
The engagement formed part of the Uganda Police Force’s ongoing community policing strategy aimed at strengthening relations with educational institutions while nurturing responsible and law-abiding citizens.
Education experts at the expo encouraged students to make informed career decisions by aligning their talents, interests and values with emerging opportunities in both public service and the private sector.
