The Directorate of Traffic and Road Safety has issued a traffic advisory for motorists ahead of the National Budget reading scheduled for June 12, 2025.
According to the directorate’s Community Liaison Officer, Michael Kananura, the traffic management plan will be enforced from 5:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. to ensure smooth flow and security during the event.
Key Traffic Guidelines:
- Jinja Road, Kampala Road, and Yusuf Lule Road will remain open to normal traffic.
- John Babiiha Road will also be accessible to regular traffic.
- Lower Kololo Terrace will be closed, restricting access from John Babiiha Road.
- Upper Kololo Terrace will also be closed to all motorists.
- Wampewo Avenue will be cut off at Housing Finance Bank and at the Kololo traffic lights.
Access and Parking for Invited Guests:
- VVIPs with properly tagged vehicles will access the venue via the western gate and park behind the VIP seating area.
- VIPs and other invited guests will access the venue via the eastern gate along Wampewo Avenue.
- Additional parking will be available at Uganda Management Institute (UMI) and Hotel Africana.
The public is strongly urged to comply with these guidelines to avoid inconvenience and ensure the event proceeds without disruption.
