Police in Wakiso District have launched investigations into a violent robbery incident after a disturbing video surfaced on social media showing a group of men assaulting an individual with pangas.
According to police, the attack occurred at around 2:00am on June 15, 2026, in Kigwanya Zone, Nabbingo Parish, Kyengera Town Council.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the victim was returning home from work with his girlfriend when they were ambushed by approximately seven men armed with pangas.
The attackers allegedly robbed the victim of his belongings before fleeing the scene.
The video of the assault, which has since circulated widely on social media, prompted police at Nsangi to take up the matter and commence investigations.
Police spokesperson for Kampala Metropolitan, Racheal Kawala said a dedicated task team has been deployed to identify, trace, and arrest the suspects involved in the attack.
“Our task team is making every effort to identify, trace, and apprehend the suspects so they can be brought to justice,” Kawala said.
Authorities have appealed to members of the public to cooperate with investigators and share any information that could aid in the arrest of the suspects.
