Kampala, Uganda: MTN MoMo Uganda Limited has launched a landmark campaign, “The Power to Be More.” This initiative moves beyond the platform’s foundational role in money transfers, unveiling a comprehensive suite of tools designed to empower both individuals and businesses to achieve their full potential.

Building on a 16-year legacy as a dependable and secure financial partner in the daily lives of millions of Ugandans, MTN MoMo has evolved into a dynamic platform that enables consumers to pay for goods and services anywhere in the world, borrow for opportunities, and invest for the future among other innovative critical services.

Speaking at the launch press conference held at the MTN Headquarters today, Richard Yego, the MTN MoMo CEO, said: “Over the past 16 years, we have walked hand in hand with you. We’ve earned your trust by being a secure, reliable, and accessible financial partner. Today, we build on that legacy with a renewed vision to empower every Ugandan to do more, achieve more, and ultimately, become more. With MTN MoMo, your phone becomes your bank, your marketplace, your investment advisor, your insurance provider, and your passport to the global digital economy. This campaign is therefore, our promise to be a partner in progress.”

In resonance with Yego, Jemima Kariuki, the Chief Products Officer at MTN MoMo Uganda Ltd noted that: “This evolution is about giving Ugandans the power to do and become more by seamlessly integrating a rich portfolio of innovative services at their fingertips. It begins with empowering individuals to make everyday payments effortlessly, whether it’s paying for goods and services with Pay with MoMo or settling school fees with ease. Building on this foundation, MoMo offers access to essential financial tools like savings and loans, enabling users to manage their finances and borrow with confidence”.

MTN MoMo pledges to remain a committed partner in progress, giving Ugandans the vital fintech tools that they require to effectively participate in the digital economy.

The journey toward financial empowerment continues with Yinvesta, a service designed to make investing simple and attainable, helping Ugandans build wealth for tomorrow. Beyond personal finance, MoMo is also transforming how entrepreneurs grow their businesses through Market by MoMo, a revolutionary e-commerce platform that connects local sellers to national and global audiences. And with Cover by MoMo, families can secure their futures through accessible insurance products. These services, along with the Virtual Card by MoMo for secure global transactions, represent the tangible ways MoMo is fueling progress across the nation.

This strategic direction is in line with Uganda’s national ambitions. As the nation diligently works towards its Vision 2040 and implements the National Development Plan (NDP III), MTN MoMo is positioned not merely as a participant in this journey, but as a key engine for change, intent on leading digital solutions for the country’s progress.

“By placing the power of a versatile financial ecosystem into the hands of every Ugandan, we are fostering financial inclusion, nurturing entrepreneurship, and building the critical infrastructure for a prosperous, modern, and digitally-empowered Uganda,” Yego noted.

MTN MoMo remains steadfast in its commitment to security and reliability, continuing to invest in a robust and secure platform that safeguards every transaction. MTN MoMo is unlocking “The Power to Be More” for every Ugandan by delivering a digital economy from the grassroots up, empowering a new generation of growth and opportunity.
