Single-Vehicle Crash in Katwe Kabatoro Leaves Four Injured

Kasese District – The Territorial Police at Katwe Kabatoro Division in Kasese District have registered a serious road accident involving a single vehicle. The incident occurred on 29th September 2025 at around 6:00 PM near Mweya Safari Lodge in Queen Elizabeth National Park.

The vehicle involved, a maroon Toyota Premio with registration number UBM 473N, was being driven by Emodu Bernard. The car was carrying five occupants, all of whom had traveled to Kasese to visit the national park.

Injured Occupants Identified are; Manyardi Julius (Male), Akello Angelina (Female), Oyesiga Marvin (Male)  Acidri Eric (Male).

All four are students at Kampala International University (KIU), Ishaka Campus.

According to preliminary investigations, the driver, Emodu Bernard, lost control of the vehicle while driving at high speed. The car reportedly overturned multiple times before coming to rest upside down. All occupants sustained injuries of varying severity.

Police officers from Katwe Kabatoro promptly responded to the scene and evacuated the injured individuals to Mt. St. Mary’s Hospital in Kasese Municipality for medical attention.
