KAMPALA, Uganda– Trinity College Nabbingo has commemorated its 83rd anniversary with a renewed commitment to the holistic empowerment of the girl child through quality, values-based education.
The celebration, held on the college’s sports grounds, was led by the Archbishop of Kampala, Bishop Paul Ssemogerere, who applauded the school’s consistent efforts in nurturing future female leaders through comprehensive education and strong moral grounding.
Bishop Ssemogerere reaffirmed the Church’s support for the college’s development programs, emphasizing the importance of providing girls with access to quality education and a spiritual foundation that fosters responsible leadership.
The Vice President of Uganda, Rtd. Maj. Jessica Alupo, was represented at the event by the Minister for Kampala Metropolitan Affairs, Hajjat Minsa Kabanda, who underscored the government’s commitment to girl child empowerment. She noted that educating girls is critical to building a resilient and progressive nation.
On behalf of the Vice President’s office, Kabanda delivered 30 bags of cement in support of the ongoing college chapel construction project. She also praised the government’s continued efforts in creating an enabling environment for girls to access quality education.
The college’s Headmistress, Immaculate Nassozi Lwanga, reaffirmed the institution’s mission to raise women of integrity and vision—leaders who can influence change in their communities and beyond.
She also reminded the gathering of the Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja’s previous pledge to donate 1,000 bags of cement towards the chapel construction—an undertaking yet to be fulfilled. The Prime Minister made this commitment during last year’s unveiling of the chapel’s UGX 6.9 billion architectural design.
Lwanga lauded the efforts of the Trinity College Nabbingo Old Girls Association (TCNOGA), led by its president Marie Solome Nassiwa Lubowa, for championing the school’s major infrastructure projects. These include the proposed UGX 14 billion Trinity Junior School, which is expected to significantly enhance the institution’s educational capacity.
As Trinity College Nabbingo enters its 84th year, its focus remains steadfast: empowering the girl child through holistic education that molds both the mind and spirit.
