Leaders in the Bunyoro sub-region have commended President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for what they describe as transformative investment in infrastructure and policies that have expanded opportunities for women and local communities.

The remarks were made in Kibaale District, where the President launched his campaign programme for the region.
Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja led the tributes, portraying the President as a driving force behind women’s empowerment in Uganda.
She said her rise from local government leadership to the office of Prime Minister illustrates the progress women have achieved under Museveni’s tenure.
Kibaale District NRM Chairperson Fred Matovu also highlighted major development projects reshaping the region, including Kabalega International Airport, Hoima City Stadium, the regional public university and extensive road upgrades.
He confirmed that 110 acres of land have already been secured for the planned Kibaale Industrial Park, a key investment aimed at stimulating industrial growth.

Speaking to residents in Buyanja Village, President Museveni announced that the government will establish a new industrial park in Bunyoro as well as an additional skilling hub intended to expand youth employment and enhance local production capacity.
He said the NRM’s 40-year record in the region is anchored in peace, development and wealth creation.
The President also recalled past insecurity caused by ADF incursions in Muzizi, noting that stability has been essential to Bunyoro’s progress.
Responding to claims that the region has been sidelined, he pointed to ongoing investments such as the Hoima–Kyegegwa road and petroleum infrastructure.

He emphasised that the proposed industrial park, which will require about 10 square miles, will accelerate value addition and job creation, complementing established parks in Namanve, Mbale and Kapeka.
Museveni encouraged households to adopt the four-acre model to boost incomes, citing farmers who have improved their livelihoods through enterprise diversification and support from programmes such as the Parish Development Model.

Parliament Speaker and NRM Second National Vice Chairperson Anita Annet Among thanked the President for the continued development in Bunyoro and urged the region to support his re-election bid to consolidate ongoing achievements.
NRM Western Region Vice Chairperson Jonard Asiimwe assured residents that he would closely monitor the rollout of the industrial park to ensure its timely implementation.
