Iganga, Uganda — Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) presidential candidate, James Nathan Nandala Mafabi, wrapped up day three of his campaign trail in Busoga with a strong message calling on locals to become champions of change after nearly 40 years under President Yoweri Museveni’s rule.
Speaking at a vibrant rally held at Igamba railway grounds, Mafabi urged the people of Busoga to take an active role in bringing about political transformation in the country.
Joined by senior FDC figures including party president Patrick Amuriat Oboi, deputy spokesperson John Kikonyogo, and MPs Isaiah Ssasaga and Jonathan Ebwalu, the team arrived in a lively kadodi procession that drew hundreds of supporters, both young and old.
Addressing the crowd, Nandala Mafabi emphasized the urgent need to overhaul several national systems. He highlighted issues such as poorly equipped hospitals, high electricity tariffs, inadequate roads, and an unfair tax regime.
He also called for facilities like Iganga Hospital to be upgraded to national referral status with better medical equipment and drug supplies.
Mafabi is expected to continue his campaign in Buyende and Kamuli districts tomorrow as he seeks support for his bid to unseat President Museveni in the upcoming election.
