On the night of March 18, 2025, the Kira Road Police launched a targeted, intelligence-driven operation from midnight until 4:40 AM, sweeping through high-risk areas such as Kyebando, Mulimira, Kamwokya, and parts of Bukoto in Kampala.
The operation aimed to crack down on individuals using drainage channels as hideouts and those attempting to disguise illicit activities as late-night betting while plotting chaos in the community.
According to Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, Patrick Onyango, 42 suspects were apprehended from known hotspots notorious for harboring criminals.
“During the operation, valuable exhibits were seized,” Onyango reported. “With the support of local leaders and concerned residents, we will conduct thorough screenings, and those found guilty will face court proceedings.”
He emphasized that the operation was a success and assured the public that authorities would continue these efforts to restore order and ensure safety in the area.
