Uganda’s journey to crown its next tourism icons officially began on Saturday, August 16, 2025, as more than 30 contestants were unveiled at a colorful ceremony hosted at Emin Pasha Hotel, Kampala. The unveiling set the stage for the highly anticipated grand finale scheduled for September 5 at Kampala Serena Hotel.

By early evening, enthusiastic supporters had already filled the venue, eager to see their regional representatives step onto the runway. The first group of contestants dazzled the audience with poise and confidence, ushering in an evening that blended fashion, elegance, and a celebration of culture.

This year’s edition carries the theme “I Am My Culture,” highlighting the importance of cultural identity, sustainable tourism, and youth involvement in national development. Organizers stressed that the competition goes far beyond beauty, serving as a platform for advocacy, transformation, and cultural preservation.

“We are thrilled to host the 13th edition of Miss Tourism Uganda. Expect an even bigger and more exciting experience this September,” said Loice Namara Kalamuka, the pageant’s Administrator. She commended parents, partners, and sponsors for their support and encouraged the public to actively participate by voting for their favorite contestants.

In a historic first, the unveiling also introduced the Man of Tourism International contestants, expanding the scope of the competition to include male ambassadors. According to the organizers, this marks a new era where both young women and men will play an active role in championing Uganda’s tourism and cultural heritage.

In the weeks leading up to the finale, participants will enter a rigorous boot camp. Here, they will undergo training and take part in community projects designed to spotlight Uganda’s diverse tourism potential.

Since its inception in 2013, Miss Tourism Uganda has evolved into a flagship event for promoting domestic tourism and cultural pride. The platform has received national recognition for shaping future leaders and cultural ambassadors.

“This initiative is no longer just about the girl child. With the inclusion of the Man of Tourism International, we are opening the door for all youth to be ambassadors of Uganda’s tourism,” Namara noted.
