KAMPALA, Uganda- All roads will lead to the Old Kampala SS playgrounds for the inaugural World Egg Day Expo 2025, taking place from 9th to 11th October 2025. This vibrant three-day event will showcase egg innovation, sustainable farming, and culinary creativity an experience not to be missed.
The development was revealed on 9th October 2025 during an exclusive interview with the event manager, Kamoga Holtze of Tradex Consult Ltd, held at the event site in the Old Kampala SS grounds.
Kamoga noted that the event, held under the theme “One Egg, All Benefits,” is set to open on 10th October 2025. The State Minister for Agriculture, Animal Industry, and Fisheries, Bright Rwamirama, will officiate as chief guest. The expo will host over 50 exhibitors both local and international and is expected to attract more than 6,000 visitors. Attendees can look forward to free farmer education sessions, among other engaging activities.
Kamoga encouraged the public to visit the venue to discover the nutritional benefits of eggs and gain insights into the latest technologies in the poultry sector aimed at maximizing profitability. The event, organized by the Poultry Association of Uganda (PAU), brings together poultry experts who will educate farmers about technological innovations and how to effectively apply them.
Moses Mugambwa, the Central Regional Sales Manager at SR Afro Chicks and Breeders Ltd, expressed his excitement about sponsoring the event. Speaking on the sidelines of the expo, he urged attendees to visit their stall and learn more about their consumer-focused products.
Sponsors of the expo include Nutri Nova, Mukwano, Essential Drugs, Kenchic, Kukuchick, and SR Afro Chicks and Breeders Ltd, among others.
“With eggs providing essential nutrition to millions, we’re highlighting sustainable practices that boost productivity while protecting our environment. It’s time to put Uganda’s egg industry on the world map,” noted Moses.
The expo will kick off with a high-energy opening ceremony featuring live poultry demonstrations, egg-eating contests, and a keynote address by IEC Chairwoman Jane O’Brien, who will speak on global trends in egg consumption amidst rising demand for ethical, cage-free production.
During the three-day event, visitors can expect showcases of innovations such as solar-powered incubators and AI-driven flock health monitoring systems. There will also be masterclasses on egg-centric dishes from traditional Ugandan matooke omelets to fusion recipes that blend African spices with global culinary trends. Additionally, panel discussions will address issues such as avian flu, export market expansion, and reducing the egg industry’s carbon footprint.
