CRIME: The Police’s Flying Squad Unit has arrested three suspects in possession of suspected stolen property.
Reports indicate that on March 11, 2026 at around 0200 hours, police received information about a white Toyota Wish motor vehicle suspected to be transporting stolen property.
Acting on the tip-off, officers trailed the vehicle up to Nakulabye, in Rubaga Division, where it parked and the occupants began offloading slaughtered animals (cows) as officers watched from a distance.
The police spokesperson for Kampala Metropolitan, Racheal Kawala said officers later moved in and arrested three suspects, who are currently in police custody.
She said a motor vehicle, registration number UBG 345D (Toyota Wish, white in colour), was also recovered with two slaughtered cows in the boot.
The suspects were identified as: Saka Kisiga Salongo, GulobaHamza (Butcher) and John Bukenya (Driver).
Preliminary findings indicate that the suspects allegedly stole the animals from Zirobwe and Luweero areas.
The stolen meat is reportedly sold in kilograms in Nakulabye, with each kilogram going for Shs 10,000.
Kawala said investigations into the matter are still ongoing.
