MUKONO- Kiwango, Uganda :  The final whistle of the 2025/26 Premier League season sparked scenes of wild celebration across the world, but in Mukono’s Kiwango Village, Arsenal fans turned the historic moment into a full community festival complete with roasted cow, music, dancing, and endless chants of “Up the Gunners!”

As Arsenal F.C. officially lifted the Premier League trophy after their final match against Crystal Palace F.C., jubilant supporters in Kiwango celebrated the end of a dream season that finally ended the club’s painful 22-year wait for league glory. For many Arsenal supporters, the trophy ceremony was emotional. Phones were raised high, jerseys waved in the air, and every Arsenal chant echoed through the village as fans watched their beloved team crowned champions at last.

At the center of the celebrations was the Kiwango Fitness Group, a unique community of football lovers and fitness enthusiasts who gather every morning for workouts before heading to work. But on this unforgettable evening, exercise shoes gave way to dancing feet and celebration moods.

“This is a moment we have waited for for years,” said Jimmy Mutyaba, the group president famously known as General, while overseeing the roasting of a cow for members and guests.“I believed from the beginning of the season that Arsenal would do it. When the title became ours, I knew we had to celebrate in a special way. Today is not just about football — it is about happiness, friendship, and enjoying this historic achievement together,” he said with a broad smile.

The atmosphere in Kiwango resembled a carnival. Arsenal jerseys painted the village red and white as fans sang club anthems, danced around the roasting site, and replayed moments from the season on their phones. Some supporters could barely contain their excitement as the Premier League trophy presentation unfolded after Arsenal’s clash with Crystal Palace.

Coach Raymond Mugabi described the title triumph as motivation not only for football fans but also for the community spirit the group has built over time.“The togetherness in this group is amazing. We train together every morning, encourage one another, and now we celebrate together,” Mugabi said. “This Arsenal victory has made us even stronger as a family.”

Even amid the partying, members used the occasion to remind residents about the importance of healthy living. Mugabi encouraged more people to join the daily fitness sessions, saying regular exercise helps prevent lifestyle diseases and improves mental well-being.

Female members including Gida, Ruth, Provia, and Leticia said the fitness group has transformed their lives by improving both their health and confidence.

“We are proud Arsenal fans, but we are also proud fitness ambassadors,” they said while laughing and dancing with fellow supporters. “We encourage more women to come and exercise with us.”

As darkness fell over Kiwango Village, the celebrations only grew louder. Plates of roasted meat circulated from hand to hand, drinks flowed freely, and every few minutes fresh chants erupted in celebration of Arsenal’s glorious season. For Arsenal fans in Mukono, this was more than winning a trophy. It was the ending of years of waiting, heartbreak, banter from rival fans, and near misses. And as the curtain closed on the 2025/26 Premier League season, Kiwango’s jubilant supporters made sure the moment would never be forgotten.
