KIGEZI REGION — The Kisoro District Local Government LC5 Chairperson, Hon. Richard Ndyana, has been injured in a serious road crash in Rubanda District. The crash occurred at about 7:40 p.m. in Hamuko Village, Karengeri Parish, Muko Sub-county, Rubanda District.
According to police, the Toyota Hilux Double Cabin pickup, registration number 3400392, belonging to Kisoro District Local Government, was travelling from Kabale towards Kisoro when the driver reportedly failed to negotiate a sharp corner, causing the vehicle to overturn several times.
Nelson Tumushime SP, PRO Kigezi Region says that Ndyana and two other unidentified male occupants sustained serious injuries in the crash.
According to him, Traffic Police from Rubanda District responded to the scene and transported the injured to Kisoro Hospital for medical treatment.
Police have urged motorists using the Kisoro-Rubanda-Kabale road to remain vigilant and observe the recommended speed limits.
