The Inspire Africa Coffee park plant in Ntungamo district is set to export its first batch of locally processed coffee in July 2025 to the world market spaces and has called for support from all stakeholders.
The remarks have been made by the chief executive officer [CEO] Coffee investors Consortium Uganda [CICU] Tony Miiro during an exclusive interview were he highlighted the progress of the facility.
Miiro pointed out that they are committed to seeing that their target of processing 150,000 metric tons about 20-30% of current production into value added coffee comes into reality and shall ensure that come June /July 2025, their first production shall be ready for the export markets.
‘We are working around the clock to ensure that the production capacity of our flagship project of Inspire Africa coffee park facility at Ntungamo launches their first batch of fresh processed coffee export to the world market effective July 2025 and are appealing to both government and all stakeholders to support us as we move into this historical venture’ noted Miiro.
He observed that CICU was set up in 2004 with mandate to promote an increase in value added coffee including roast, ground and ready to drink profiles and have been in the recent past building capacities of sector members into the green bean processing structures that shall effectively provide varieties of coffee to the hub
They are looking at developing and setting up more similar structures across the country which is a direct venture of creating new outright employment opportunities to more citizens as well as empowering them economically to fight household poverty.
He noted that in the past years they have been majorly engaged more in readiness to export, in terms of capacity, quality and technologies as well as logistical handling services.
