TECNO celebrates 16 years in Africa

The leading Smartphone Manufacturer, TECNO has introduced a revolutionary Artificial intelligence-AI-powered ecosystem in Uganda, targeting to transform the tech landscape in Uganda and the East African community.

This news was announced on 4th October 2024 during a press conference held at TECNO shop on Arena Mall, Nsambya

The news came at the time when TECNO is commemorates 16th anniversary in Africa.

“TECNO has introduced a suite of AI-enhanced devices and services designed to spur creativity, connectivity, and personalization across the continent”. Said Timmy Shen, Brand Manager Techno-Uganda.

“As TECNO celebrates 16 years in Africa, the company reaffirms its dedication to innovation and progress on the continent”. The technology we unveiled today represents not just a product launch but a promise to innovation and progress; to bring the future closer to Ugandans and Africans,”  Timmy shen noted.

“Investing in green financing to help the respective countries where they operate to mitigate the effects of climate change is on our top agenda”. He added.

He noted that as the world continues  to witness the effects of climate change with increasing frequency and severity evidenced by rising temperatures, extreme weather events, and business disruptions, there is a need for urgent action to be taken.

According to him, the company is addressing issues by manufacturing environmentally friendly gadgets that are easy to recycle and biodegradable.

He believes that the launched Tecno Gargets, will go along way to supporting communities embrace Artificial intelligence (AI) to transform their businesses.

“TECNO’s ethos has always been to create exceptional products and services that meaningfully improve people’s lives. Our mission is to bring the future closer to Ugandans and Africans at large.” He remarked.

The AI-powered ecosystem includes a variety of devices, all enhanced with AI capabilities. Key features include:

Ella AI Assistant, built on Google Gemini, providing smart recommendations, real-time translation, and content generation

AI Writing and Artboard enabling users to generate text, create art from prompts, and produce professional-grade content with ease

AI Image and Video Editing tools, including AI Eraser and AI Portrait Beautification, allowing users to edit photos and videos effortlessly

AI-powered Real-Time Call Translation feature, enabling seamless language communication

TECNO’s latest devices, including the PHANTOM V Fold2 5G, CAMON 30S, and MEGABOOK T16 Series laptops, boast cutting-edge AI capabilities, impressive camera systems, and robust performance.

The PHANTOM V Fold2 5G impresses with a 5-lens camera system for ultra-clear low-light shooting, 120Hz display, and 5750mAh battery with 70W Ultra Charge technology. The CAMON 30S features a 50 MP Sony IMX890 OIS main camera with AI-enhanced capabilities for stunning landscape, night, and portrait photography.

In Uganda, TECNO’s AI-powered ecosystem is expected to revolutionize mobile photography, gaming, and overall user experience.
