Police in Kabalagala Division are investigating a violent robbery that took place on 6 May 2026 at around 11:30am at the Nsambya Traffic Lights along Ggaba Road in Kampala.
According to authorities from the Uganda Police Force, the incident involved a group of assailants who attacked two victims before making off with an undisclosed sum of money, believed to have been withdrawn from a forex bureau.
Although the matter was initially reported in May, renewed public attention was triggered on 9 June 2026 after a video of the attack resurfaced and spread widely across social media platforms.
Investigators say police responded immediately after the first report, visiting and documenting the crime scene at the busy junction in the Nsambya area. Statements were recorded from witnesses, CCTV footage from the surrounding area was reviewed, and key pieces of evidence were recovered to aid the ongoing investigation.
Security officials confirm that efforts are actively underway to identify, track, and apprehend all individuals involved in the coordinated attack.
Police have urged members of the public who may have relevant information to come forward and assist with the investigation through the nearest police station or official communication channels.
Luke Owoyesigyire, the Kampala Metropolitan Deputy spokesman, said all necessary steps are being taken to ensure the suspects are brought to justice as inquiries continue.
