LUGOGO, KAMPALA — Parents and children have been encouraged to attend this year’s Baby & Kids Expo EA 2026, organized by Kiara Events, currently taking place at the UMA Show Grounds Multi-Purpose Hall from May 16 to 17, 2026.

The annual family event is being held under the theme “Care Before Crisis”, aimed at empowering parents and equipping children with practical skills, creativity, and mental wellness awareness.
Speaking during the opening of the Expo, Joweria Nabuuma said this year’s edition has introduced new and exciting activities intended to educate, entertain, and empower children and families.

“We want parents and children to come and enjoy together while learning valuable skills such as tailoring, robotics, molding, spelling competitions, and many others,” Joweria said.
She added that this year’s Expo also features mental wellness sessions, interactive question-and-answer engagements, pottery, painting, a free play area, and empowerment talks from key presenters.
The Expo has attracted several sponsors, including MTN Uganda, Movit, I&M Bank, MultiChoice, Nation Media Group, Abacus Pharma, Mirinda, Enjuba, and other partners showcasing products and services for babies, children, teenagers, and parents.
Representatives from the sponsoring companies expressed excitement about supporting the event and encouraged parents to bring their children during the holiday period for exposure and learning opportunities.

Namulema Keisha Malaika, a Senior One student at Bethany High School, said she was excited to attend the Expo after learning practical skills such as ice-cream making and molding.
“I am very happy because I have learned new things that can help me in the future,” she said.
Meanwhile, Raymond Mugabi, one of the parents who has consistently attended the Expo since its inception, praised the event for positively impacting families.
“This event has brought positive changes to my home,” Mugabi noted.
