Kampala, Uganda – Coca-Cola Beverages Uganda (CCBU), a member of the Coca-Cola Beverages Africa Group, joined forces with road safety advocate Joe Walker to support the 2025 Boda Boda Road Safety Walk — a key initiative aimed at reducing traffic fatalities among boda boda riders, one of Uganda’s most vulnerable road user groups.
As the official hydration partner for the 21-kilometre walk, CCBU provided Rwenzori Mineral Water to ensure participants — including boda boda riders, safety advocates, and partners — remained refreshed and energised throughout the journey across key locations in Kampala.
The walk formed part of a broader national campaign focused on promoting road safety and responsible riding. Along the route, participants stopped at major boda boda stages to conduct structured engagements, distribute reflective gear, and demonstrate safe riding practices.
“Rwenzori Mineral Water played a vital role in keeping everyone hydrated throughout the day,” said Kirunda Magoola, CCBU’s Public Affairs, Communications, and Sustainability Manager. “Our support for this initiative reflects our deep commitment to creating shared value and making a positive impact in the communities we serve.”
Magoola emphasized CCBU’s broader commitment to sustainability and community well-being: “As we work to Refresh Africa and Create Shared Value, we also reinforce our social licence to operate — ensuring our business growth goes hand-in-hand with environmental stewardship, community safety, and governance excellence.”
