Murder of 4-Year-Old”The Police in Kitagwenda District have arrested AMARAKUTUNGA LEVI, a musician and male councillor representing persons with disabilities, for allegedly murdering a 4-year-old child from Nyaruhanda Village in a suspected ritual sacrifice.
According to police reports, the child went missing on March 16, 2025, after being sent to a neighbour’s house, and the body was later allegedly discovered the next morning in the suspect’s farm.
The police investigation involved the K-9 unit, which tracked a scent leading to Levi’s home, approximately 300 meters from the crime scene.
A suspected panga with bloodstains was also recovered about 200 meters from the body.
A further search at the suspect’s home yielded incriminating evidence, including a bucket filled with water containing clothes and blood and blood stains on the wall of one of the rooms.
Woman arrested over alleged murder of husband
In a related case the police in Rwampara District arrested Dinavence Kyomugyemo, a 53-year-old resident of Kaaya cell, Ngugo parish, Bugamba Sub County in connection with the murder of her husband.
She is alleged to be involved in the murder of her husband, Geresiano Byakatonda.
Similar to the case of previous domestic disputes that have turned deadly, Byakatonda was reported to have left home on March 16, 2025, telling his family he was heading to church.
However, his lifeless body was later discovered the following morning at approximately 7:30am by students on their way to school. The body was found near eucalyptus trees along the Binyuga-Munyere road in Kaaya cell, raising suspicions of foul play.
A police dog named Hector was brought to the scene and led authorities to the couple’s home.
There, they discovered an iron bar with bloodstains abandoned in the compound, and further investigation uncovered a white mosquito net with blood stains hidden beneath a bed.
These pieces of evidence have prompted police to delve deeper into the couple’s domestic issues, with reports indicating that the deceased and his wife had a history of misunderstandings.
As in similar cases, police continue their inquiries, aiming to uncover the full details behind this unfortunate incident.
